AAVP-7 or AAV-7 (ang. AND mphibious Assault Vehicle) is a modern American APC. The first prototypes of the vehicle were created in the early 1970s, and serial production began in 1972. The car is powered by an engine Detroit diesel engine 8V-53T or Cummins VTA-525 each o power of 400 hp . The vehicle is armed with an automatic grenade launcher Mk. 19 caliber 40 mm and a single M2HB machine gun cal. 12.7 mm.
Vehicles The AAVP-7 was designed to replace the less successful LVTP-5 vehicles in the US Marine Corps. In the new cars, the emphasis was on faster movement in the water, greater mobility on land (especially higher top speed) and much better mechanical reliability. Three main versions of this vehicle were produced in the course of serial production. The first is AAVP-7A1, a floating armored personnel carrier capable of carrying up to 25 landing troops. The expensive version is AAVC-7A1, i.e. the commander version with richer radio and communication equipment. Finally, the third version is the AAVR-7A1, a technical security vehicle. AAVP-7 vehicles were exported to several countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Spain. They also took part in some armed conflicts, such as the Falklands War in 1982, the Gulf War (1990-1991) or the 2003 Iraqi operations.
