The second leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy also gets a new statue by Iron Studios!
Seating in a wall of electronic components inside the mobile research facility Arête Laboratories, the most sarcastic, foul-mouthed, and cynic raccoon of the galaxy holds a blaster pistol in his right hand while he brings his improvised card key made by him with scraps to open the cages in Arête Laboratories. Wearing his blue costume with details in red, he joins his friends and allies to face his nemesis, and free the innocent prisoners from a tragic destiny in the hands of their creator, a madman obsessed with creating the perfect species with what he considered inferior life forms and build his own utopia. Revealed firsthand at San Diego Comic-Con 2023 in their booth, Iron Studios brought the statue 'Rocket Raccoon - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - Art Scale 1:10', the future new leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy over a diorama base that reminds the mobile research facility of the High Evolutionary villain, in a new series with the statues of Groot and Star-Lord completing the set.
Genetically and cybernetically altered by the mad geneticist known as High Evolutionary, a raccoon kit called Subject 89P13 got enhanced intelligence and the ability to speak. Naming himself Rocket, he grew up with strong friendship bongs with Lylla, Teefs, and Floor, other animals altered in the experiments, and kept as prisoners together with him, believing they would have the opportunity of living on peace in a new planet. After helping the High Evolutionary. After helping the High Evolutionary in the enhancement of his experiments, Rocket found out that he, alongside his friends, would be eliminated. Rocket tried freeing them so they could escape together, but all of them (Except the small raccoon) were killed, causing a fury attack of Rocket against his former master, that mutilated his face. Rocket boarded a ship and ran away to the cosmos, and while traveling the galaxy he became friends with the native humanoid arbor Groot with whom he committed many crimes and got many rewards. They met the marauder Star-Lord with whom they forged an alliance, saving the planet Xandar and defeating the Kree villain called Ronan, the Accuser, resulting in the formation of the group known as Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocky continued working for the Guardians when they were hired by the Sovereign, another race created by the High Evolutionary, to kill a creature called Abilisk, that consumed energy batteries. After eliminating the monster, Rocket stole the batteries to sell them, causing the rage of the High Priestess Ayesha, who declared war on the Guardians, hiring other Ravagers mercenaries to capture them. Captured by the Clan of Yondu Udonta, a rally promoted by Taserface and allies required Yondu and Rocket to work together, wishing to save his family of Guardians, joined Udonta in the Battle of Planet Ego. Years later, the Guardians rescued Thor when the Asgardians were massacred by Thanos. Rocket and Groot followed Thor to Nidavellir in order to obtain an enchanted axe Stormbreaker, and in possession of the axe, through the Bifrost Bridge, traveled to planet Earth to join the Wakanda Battle against Thanos. Rocket spent some years as a member of the Avengers, and, after the conclusion of the Infinity Saga and the defeat of Thanos, he joined the Guardians one more time to return to their cosmic adventures. After buying Knowhere from the Collector, he helped re-constructing it, but after the attack of Adam Warlock, a being created by Ayesha as a living weapon, designed to kill the Guardians of the Galaxy, Rocket was gravely wounded, leading the Guardians to investigate his past to save him.
